5 exotic beach destinations you can visit without Visa

Just book your flights and show up!!

Bali, Indonesia

Flights: 20k-30k (Cheapest from Chennai)

Visa: Not required

Bali is not just popular for white sand beaches but also for its beautiful lush green valleys and temples. It is a perfect honeymoon destination.

Bali offers a mix of everything, be it snorkeling to see 500 species of coral reefs, or climbing Mount Agung to visit one of the oldest temple complexes in Hinduism (Pura Besakih).

Fun fact: Bali is a Hinduism majority island with caste system resembling that of India.

Maldives

If you are looking to chill on a beach, Maldives is the place to go!

Flights: 10k-20k (Cheapest from Kochi)

Visa: Not required

Maldives is famous for its white sand lagoons. Most of the resorts have small lagoon houses. Only caveat is, Maldives is significantly expensive. A good resort will cost you ~70k for 3 nights. You can choose to stay in Male (capital of Maldives) for much cheaper but I wouldn’t recommend that!

Fun fact: Certain beaches in the Maldives glow in the dark like starry night.

Seychelles

Flights: 40k (cheapest from Mumbai)

Visa: Not required, can stay up to a maximum of 3 months.

Seychelles is an Island country in the Indian Ocean. These islands are largely covered by dense forests. If you want quiet beaches and beautiful flora and fauna, Seychelles is the place. It is a perfect retreat in nature’s lap. You will see distinctive wildlife that is not found elsewhere.

Mauritius

Flights: 35k-40k (cheapest from Mumbai)

Visa: Not required, can stay up to 3 months

Favorite pick of honeymooners, Mauritius boasts a happening nightlife scene (Grand Bay) along with a lot of water sports (snorkeling, deep sea fishing etc). Visit “The bazaar of Port Louis” to taste local savories, or spend an afternoon drinking beer at “Ile de Cerfs”. Drinking in pubs can be expensive especially on islands that have only a few bars, so carry ample food and booze from Port Louis.

Fun fact: Grand Bay is famous for Harley Davidson rentals. So rent a Harley and ride along the waterfront.

Sri Lanka

Flights: 10k-15k (cheapest from Chennai)

Visa: Online visa application.

Sri Lanka will outlive your expectations! Its serene beaches, beautiful tea plantations and untouched highlands make it a perfect family destination. My personal experience in Sri Lanka was outstanding. Take the train ride from Candy to Ella, it’s one of the world’s most scenic train ride. Hike along railway tracks in Ella on bridges and tunnels built in the 19th century. Colombo has a happening nightlife scene and pub culture. Visit Bentota, a small beach town which is just 3 hours drive from Colombo.

If you are planning a long vacation and like beaches, consider Fiji or the even Carribean. It’s slightly expensive to reach there but most of them are visa free to Indians.
